How long have you been in business?
Snow Hill Design was officially founded in 2007. However, we have been designing websites as far back as 2005. We have survived the many changes that have taken place in the technical aspect of website design and as a result, we have acquired invaluable experience which has helped us to develop websites that are both technically sound and visually appealing.

What is the client's role in the development process?
We put a strong emphasis on open lines of communication with our clients. Our clients can have as much or as little involvement in the development process as they want. While most of our clients prefer to simply provide us with the necessary content and let us handle all of the design work, some clients do prefer to be involved in all aspects such as the design layout, graphics, color scheme, navigation, etc. In either case, while in the development process, we build the website on our servers and provide the client with access to the site so that they can review the progress of the project at any time. This helps to ensure that the design meets the client’s expectations and also allows for any changes or corrections to be made before the website is launched for public viewing.

What is the step by step process that is taken to create my website?
We begin by getting any information you would like included on your website and create a sample page for your viewing. You can view the site and make changes or say that you would like to keep the site. Whatever changes you would like to be made will be made to the best of our ability. Then your site is updated, and uploaded and we are done.

How long will it take to develop my website?
This really depends on the size of the website In most cases we can generally have a website complete and online in as little as 3-5 days. Even most of the larger websites that consist of 25 or more pages can be completed in less than 7 days. The key factor in determining how quickly we can complete a website is actually the client. If a client can provide us all of the necessary content in a timely and organized fashion, that will certainly speed up the process. If we have to constantly chase down the material from a client, it can slow the process down exponentially. Than the process can take up to 7-14 days or even as long as 1 month.

Can you assure that my deadline and budget requirements will be met?
Yes! We provide an exact final cost to our clients before the project ever begins. This eliminates any guesswork or budgetary surprises. If additional costs are anticipated or if the client requests additional work to be performed, we make sure that the client is aware of any applicable costs ahead of time and fully understands what each individual charge is for. We will never surprise you with any hidden fees or surcharges of any kind.

A deadline is harder to make but if it is one that makes sense we would be more than willing to help aid you with your deadline.

Will I be able to update and maintain my website myself?
You have complete freedom of choosing who maintains your site once we have completed the design process. If you or someone you know has the knowledge to make the updates to your site after it has been completed, then by all means, you can go that route.

For those that do not have the necessary website design knowledge to maintain their site, or simply don't have the time to invest in maintaining the site, Snow Hill Design also offers many different website maintenance services for those that prefer to have us handle all of the future updates and maintenance to their websites. We also allow our clients to have their websites maintained by a third party if they so choose. We allow our clients to have complete freedom over their websites both in the design phase as well as the maintenance options. But we do not provide any information or client profiles to any third parties even with your permission.

Do I own the website after I pay for it?
After we have created a website and payment has been received in full, our clients have complete ownership of the website and can do with it as they wish. However, the design of the website remains the property of Snow Hill Design. This concept is much like buying a car. Once you have paid for the car, you own the car itself. You can do whatever you want to it; paint it, modify it, crash it, etc. However, the manufacturer still has the copyright on the design of the car. This is how our design copyright works. Once you have paid for your website, you can modify it in any way you see fit. You also own all of the materials you provided to us during the development process. We simply own the design’s concept. This simply prevents other people or designers from taking credit for the design work that Snow Hill Design created. This means if you do have someone maintain your site other than us, your site must have our name on it (next to the copyright information). If not you will be required to remove the site or add that information.

Who can I contact if I have questions during the development process?
You will be issued a "case manager" whose e-mail you will have. All of our staff check their e-mails at least once per day (if not more often) this includes weekends. If you do not get a response from your case manager within 24 hours e-mail our information manager at info@snowhilldesign.com.

What kind of customer support does Snow Hill Design offer?
We guarantee that when you contact us with a question or concern, you will never have to deal with annoying automated responses or phone menus which take up more of your valuable time. If we develop your website, you will be able to speak with the same designer that actually created your site. In most cases, if you choose another company to design your site, when you call in with a request or question you are often directed to someone that has never before seen or even heard of your website our customer service is available to our clients year round because we understand that not all questions arise during "normal business hours". If you have a question on Sunday, we are here to help you find the answer on Sunday. Though our phone system is totally automated we can give you your staff member's cell phone for EMERGENCIES.

What steps do you take to prevent my website from being lost or destroyed?
When we complete a website, we upload the entire final product to the client's host/server. If the client does not have a host/server, we provide the client with a disc which contains the final product. In addition, we also keep a backup of the client's website on our server as well as a hard copy on a separate disc in our office. So at any given time, a client can have up to three copies of their website stored in three different locations for safe keeping. The services that we just described (other than the client's server) come at an extra cost, it is $15/month.

Who will host my website?
That is totally up to you. We highly recommend using 1and1 Internet Hosting. In fact, we not only recommend them, but we use them for our hosting needs as well! Their extremely low rates and their exceptional reliability have resulted in 1and1 being rated year after year as the #1 hosting company on the internet by several independent research companies. Please visit our "services" page.

Flash vs. Traditional HTML
Snow Hill Design does not offer any type of Flash Design due to it load speed. Snow Hill Design is a firm believer in make sure all website are accessible by all audiences. When using flash you are getting very close to violating the ADA policies (Americans with Disabilities Act). Flash is very a slow loading code and people running Dial Up or even Broadband will become frustruated and not look at your site. We use some "flashy" text and buttons (GIF images) to make your website more appealing and still accessible to all audiences.

What gaurntees do you have?
We offer a 30 day money back gaurntee. After 30 days you can reject our services for no rejection fee but you will not get your money back.
